Student at Annual Quadrille Ball

New York. Ms. Mollenhauer, Hochschule Fresenius University of Applied Sciences intern from degree programBusiness Psychology (B.Sc.), attended and helped the organization of the 58th Annual Quadrille Ball established back in 1961. It was held at the prestigious Pierre Hotel on 5th Avenue. The ball is dedicated to promoting transatlantic friendship and understanding by raising funds to benefit the Germanistic Society of America’s scholarship fund for the exchange for American and German graduate and undergraduate students. The ball itself featured dining, dancing and a silent auction in the main ballroom and is attended by German dignitaries in the region. The highlight were the Quadrille dancers dressed in their tails and white dresses performing a French square dance from the early 19th century which they perfected by a weekly practice session. Ms. Mollenhauer, intern and student of Hochschule Fresenius, spent the first part of the evening checking-in guests and then supporting the silent auction. She is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the evening and said that, “the Quadrille Ball was a joyful evening with mingling and dancing until 4 am” for her. (pn)
