The students enrolled in the integrated semester study abroad program at our partner institutions Berkeley College and Pace University could use this reception to meet with high profile German-American business people, alumni of other German universities now based in the United States, researchers at US institutions and others. The guest list included top representation from the Foreign Office of Germany, DAAD North America, German Center for Research and Innovation, American Council of Germany, Cultural Vistas, Deutsche Bank, Schott North America, Columbia University, New York University, City University of New York, partners of law firms and more. Ms. Lara Mollenhauer who is doing an internship in New York with Dress for Success Inc. and Fresenius University of Applied Sciences New York study center commented on the evening: “It was motivating to hear the stories of the incredible career paths most of the German-American professionals took and recognize how the American and German nationality influences them in their daily lives. For me, it was an evening full of joy, impressive conversations and learning about US-style networking in a German context.” (jn)
