Establishing rapid and efficient analysis is both a great challenge and vital for industry. We will set you on the right path and give you the skills you need.

We focus on the various analytical methods and work with you to establish which methods are best suited to specific tasks. We don’t just take measurements, we also ask questions and use the answers to develop the best solutions. If you want your Master’s to be a success, you need to enjoy laboratory work – after all, you will be spending considerable time in the lab.

As well as studying analytical methods, you will learn about the key legal requirements that play a major role in the development, registration, production, and distribution of medicinal products. We will also spend plenty of time on quality assurance – precision is key for analytical methods, requiring a keen awareness of quality. Fascinating lectures will also provide insights into the world of proteins, nucleic acids, and polysaccharides and their importance in physiological processes.

We offer practical teaching by lecturers who have professional experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and know the needs of the market. This Master’s study program has a strong focus on application, and you will spend a great deal of time in our state-of-the-art laboratories. The program has an international feel from the outset and all content is taught in English, providing you with yet another advantage.

Our personal learning atmosphere, with small study groups and individual supervision by our experienced lecturers, will prove extremely beneficial. The program is structured to accommodate your needs. The first semester will be spent attending lectures and applying your specialist knowledge in the laboratory. In the second semester, you will concentrate solely on your Master’s thesis. If you wish, you can also write your thesis abroad – we have contacts around the world and will be happy to help.

In order to start a master’s program at the Hochschule Fresenius, you must fulfill the applicable admission criteria. In this context, we check the completion of your first academic degree, your final grade, the content of your preliminary studies and your language skills.

You will find an upload section on the online application portal with the documents required for enrollment. The only thing needed by post is a certified copy of your university entrance qualification. All other documents required for enrollment can be submitted after the application procedure.

Admission to study program
If you are accepted for the study program, our administration team will send you a study contract. Please sign the forms and return them within 14 days, since we cannot guarantee your university place beyond the 14-day limit.

Hochschule Fresenius is a privately run higher education institution whose programs are recognized but not funded by the state. Therefore, we must charge fees for our programs. You can finance your studies in various ways.

Having analyzed molecules and examined biological processes, graduates of our Master’s study program have a range of potential careers. Your newly acquired ability to understand the entire analytical process will make you a sought-after expert in many fields – for example with companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, biotech companies, public authorities, analysis and research institutes, and manufacturers of analytical devices. Potential roles include:

  • Research assistant/head of research at a private company (after completing a doctorate)
  • Product and sales expert for analytical devices
  • Project manager
  • Quality control manager at a private company
  • Researcher of fundamental science at a public institute
  • Member of staff/director at a regulatory

In numerous practical phases in the laboratory, you will work independently on various projects and gain experience of working with modern analytical devices. The study program is rounded off by case studies and excursions to companies in the pharmaceutical and bioanalysis industry with integrated workshops. This helps you to find not only a suitable topic but also potential corporate partners for your final Master’s thesis.
