Multidisciplinary studies

The bachelor degree course thoroughly prepares you to meet the demands of the health care business environment and the labour market. It combines practically-oriented business competence with health care-specific knowledge. 50% of the curriculum comprises health care business management subjects and 40% business administration and legal subjects. Moreover, the student is provided with use-oriented key qualifications so that the basics of expert, methodical and social competencies are set for their future career opportunities.

Practical studies

The six-semester course leading to the state-recognised Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Health Economics focuses on communicating application-oriented course content in small study groups. The course includes a period of work experience to allow students to apply what they have learned in practice.

Targeted studies

The courses of study provide the opportunity of early entry into the occupational fields reflecting personal interests and aptitudes. Two of the following fields are chosen for specialisation after completion of the third semester:

• Hospital management
• Out-patient care: practice networks / integrated care
  

The optional choice of an additional major subject from another course of studies within the faculty is also possible. Health care business management graduates are in high demand as a result of their double medical and business qualification, and they have excellent career and promotion opportunities at health care organisations, medical insurance companies and in the pharmaceuticals industry, for example in:

• Hospitals
• Practice networks
• Health insurance funds (associations)
• Auditing and consulting companies

Fees

The Hochschule Fresenius is a privately sponsored university whose courses of study are state-recognised, but not state refinanced. Study fees have to be paid for this reason.
