Mission statement
Mission Statement of the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences
The Fresenius University of Applied Sciences has its roots in the Fresenius Chemical Laboratory founded in 1848 by Carl Remigius Fresenius, and it can look back on over 165 years of educational tradition under private governorship in Germany. This makes it the oldest educational establishment of its kind in the field of chemistry. True to the intent of its founder, it combines teaching, research and practical application. The Fresenius name stands for practice-oriented teaching closely linked to applied research and development. This applies to both the traditional department of Chemistry & Biology as well as both the Health and Economics & Media departments that were established in 1997/98.
On this basis, and in coordination with professional partners as well as in dialogue with organisations, alumni and students, the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences has continually developed and expanded its range of courses and its strategic alignment. In doing so, it pursues the goals of sustainability and innovation in equal measure. The motto of the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences: “To teach and research in an application-oriented manner, to embody internationalism, to challenge and support students!”
